Ignitions Buying Guide
Your Honda vehicle should start and run like the day it rolled off the factory line and onto the lot. Your original ignition helps make sure it can.
How They Work
It's simple. It begins with the turn of a key. This triggers an ignition switch. Your vehicle gets going, and so do you. Under the hood, however, there's a lot more happening. Your battery and starter motor are busy using a starter solenoid and an ignition coil to send small electric charges to each spark plug on top of your engine's cylinder head. The plugs capture them, combusting the oxygen and gas mixture in your engine. As the mix burns, it releases the power the engine runs on, and thanks to your alternator, it remains running.
If you have problems starting, though, your ignition may be going bad. To figure out what the problem is, plug in a code reader and do a thorough inspection. Otherwise, look for symptoms of ignition failure.
The Signs of a Bad One
They include flickering dashboard lights, a starter that won't turn, and stalling out. Your key may not even turn in the ignition. If your inspection indicates that you need replacement ignition parts, be sure to buy genuine ones.
Why Buy Genuine Honda Ignition Parts
They're guaranteed compatible with your Honda model. That's peace of mind you won't necessarily get from aftermarket ignitions.
